Operate the rotary shifter slowly and securely. To shift into neutral (N), press and hold the rotary shifter for a moment. To select reverse (R) or drive (D), press and hold the rotary shifter while turning it left or right according to the arrow shown on the shift position indicator. Always release the rotary shifter after each shift to allow it to return to its normal position. When shifting from park (P) to neutral, drive, or reverse, or vice versa, ensure that the brake pedal is depressed and the vehicle is stationary.
The meter display illuminates to show the current shift position, and the rotary shifter display provides the same indication. Always verify that the shift position has been changed to the desired setting by checking the indicator on the instrument cluster.
To engage park (P), fully stop the vehicle and set the parking brake before pressing the P position switch. When the shift position is changed to P, the switch lights up to confirm the selection. Make sure that the shift position indicator also shows P.
