Warning: For the Rotary Shifter

• Do not remove the rotary shifter knob or use any part other than a genuine Toyota rotary shifter knob. Also, do not hang or attach anything to the rotary shifter. Altering its configuration may prevent the shifter from returning properly to its regular position, which can cause unexpected accidents while driving.
• In order to prevent accidental shift changes, avoid touching the rotary shifter when it is not in use.

Warning: P Position Switch

• Do not press the P position switch while the vehicle is moving. If the P switch is activated while driving at very low speeds-such as immediately before stopping-the vehicle may come to an abrupt halt when the shift position changes to P, increasing the risk of an accident.
• To avoid unintended operations, do not touch the P position switch when you are not actively using it.

Notice: Exiting the Vehicle (Driver’s Seat Only)

Before opening the door and exiting the vehicle from the driver’s seat, always check that the shift position indicator shows P and that the parking brake indicator is illuminated. Ensuring these conditions confirms that the vehicle is securely parked.

Holding the Shift Position in Neutral (N) Without Activating Automatic Park (P)

In some cases, it is necessary to keep the shift position in Neutral (N) until the system automatically transitions to Park (P) without triggering the automatic P position selection function. Follow these steps to maintain the shift safely in N:

1. With the EV system operating, use the rotary shifter to change the shift position to N.
2. Return the rotary shifter to its regular (resting) position.
3. Operate the rotary shifter once again to select N and hold it there until you hear a buzzer sound.
4. Immediately press the power switch within a few seconds after the buzzer sounds.

Completing this procedure causes the EV system to stop with the shift position remaining in N. Confirm that the buzzer has sounded and that the multi-information display indicates “Holding N, Push P Switch When Done.”

• If you wish to shift to a position other than N, first press the P position switch to change the shift position to P.
• Note that if the automatic P position selection function is initiated while the EV system is stopped, it may not operate correctly. Always perform this operation while the EV system is active.

* To maintain this state, refrain from repeatedly operating the power switch. Multiple operations may cause the power switch to turn off after the shift position automatically changes to P.
